What is a transaction ID (TxID)?

A transaction ID (TxID) or transaction hash is a unique string of characters given to every transaction that’s verified and added to the blockchain. In other words, a TxID is an identification number that labels each transaction on the blockchain. With TxID, you can look up your deposit and withdrawal history.

To search for a transaction on the blockchain, you need to use a specialized link (explorer) suitable for that particular cryptocurrency.

How to find my hash/TxID?

A block explorer is a tool that provides detailed analytics about a blockchain network since its first day at the genesis block. We can say a block explorer acts as a search engine and browser where users can find information about individual blocks, public addresses, and transactions associated with a specific cryptocurrency.

In some cases, multiple coins are based on the same blockchain, thus they can be found using the same blockchain explorer.

Below you will find a list of the supported coins. Next to them you can see a link to the relevant blockchain explorer.

To see your transaction on the blockchain, click on the link next to the coin you purchased and enter either your wallet address or the blockchain transaction ID in the website search bar.

Note that your funds will be transferred to the relevant block after the nodes have confirmed the transaction. If the network is congested, it may take longer for your funds to arrive.

Steps to Locate Your TxID:

  1. Find a Blockchain Explorer: Different cryptocurrencies operate on different blockchain networks, each with its own explorer. Below is a list of supported coins and their relevant blockchain explorers.
  2. Access the Explorer: Click on the explorer link associated with your cryptocurrency.
  3. Enter Your Information: Use your wallet address or transaction ID to search for your transaction.
  4. Verify Transaction Status: The explorer will show transaction details, including confirmation status, timestamp, and transfer amount.

Note: Transactions are confirmed by network nodes before appearing on the blockchain. If the network is congested, confirmation may take longer.

Why is TxID Important?

TxID plays a crucial role in cryptocurrency transactions for several reasons:

  • Proof of Transaction: Confirms that the transaction has been sent and received.
  • Dispute Resolution: Helps resolve issues related to delayed or missing funds.
  • Transparency: Ensures full visibility of transactions on a public ledger.
  • Security: Allows verification of transaction details without sharing private keys.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

If you cannot find your transaction, consider the following:

  • Pending Confirmation: Transactions might be awaiting network approval.
  • Incorrect Explorer: Ensure you are using the correct explorer for the cryptocurrency.
  • Delays Due to Network Congestion: High transaction volume may cause delays.
  • Wrong Wallet Address: Double-check the recipient's wallet address.

FAQ

To find the transaction hash, log in to your 1xBit account, go to the "Transaction History" section, and locate the specific transaction. The hash (TxID) will be displayed alongside the transaction details. You can copy it to track your payment on the blockchain.

The transaction hash is a unique identifier that allows you to track the status of your payment on the blockchain. It provides transparency and confirms whether your transaction has been successfully processed or is still pending.

To check your transaction, copy the TxID and paste it into the search bar of a blockchain explorer that supports the cryptocurrency you used. For example, use a Bitcoin explorer for BTC transactions. This will show all details, including confirmations and timestamps.
